We all know the story of the Bay of Pigs and the death of JFK. Buchholz has taken these points and tells an interesting story of politics, insider trading and behind the scenes dealings in the world of high finance.

Luke Braden is a prize fighter who killed an opponent in the ring; He tries to remake himself and falls under the eye and thumb of Paul Tremont, a master of finance and special plans for Cuba. Braden joins forces as Tremont’s protégé and slowly finds out that there is more to Tremont’s plans.

Add in Luke’s father - a well respected college professor, Cori Leopard – a protesting Senators daughter, the mysterious Oriana, and several anti Castro partisans and Buchholz has a character mix that makes the action move along well. It is a smooth flowing novel that when you discover what Tremont’s plan really is and how THE CASTRO GENE fits into the picture it only makes you read faster until the book is finished.

Buchholz has done an outstanding job is putting together a highly entertaining and thought provoking book. I hope he continues to write in the politic arena. Recommended.
