Before I get to the books, I wanted to make a mention of some of Hubbard’s other accomplishments. He was a member of the Explorers Club and led three major expeditions for them. He had a Master of Sail Vessels license as well as being one of the first pilots licensed for planes and gliders. He worked with John W. Campbell at Astounding Science Fiction. He wrote screenplays for Columbia and Warner Brothers. He had fifteen pen names. He did all of this while writing in almost every genre and living his life to the fullest.

Each volume contains two or more stories from Hubbard’s "Golden Age" output as well as a preview for another volume in the series. Each also contains an introduction by Kevin J. Anderson and a brief look at Hubbard’s life as well as a glossary to help understand some of the words that may not be in use today.

The Great Secret is all that is left from a race that once ruled the universe and Fanner Marsden plans to find the secret and become the new ruler of the Universe. Space Can is a war in space story. The Beast is tale of a Venusian hunter and his unusual quarry. The Slaver shows that a man’s true nature may not be tamed by being a slave.

If I Were You is a tale of the circus and magic that shows that the stature of a man doesn’t depend on his height. The Last Drop shows that some concoctions are better left alone.

There will be a total of eighty volumes covering all of the genres and will be available in paperback or CD audio. You can sign up and receive one volume a month. Get more details at www.goldenagestories.com. The cover and interior illustrations are reprinted from the magazines of the period. These are a good way to recapture the pulps of the thirties and forties and introduce a new generation of readers to one of the most interesting writers of the period.
