It’s really good to have something new from Patrick Welch. His previous tales have always been terrific reads, whether science fiction, fantasy or horror. This is no exception although it is a little unusual.

This is the story of CORD, who is writing his confession for the police. He is a mild mannered accountant by day and the company he works for is also a cover for the other job he has. He is currently under arrest for being a serial killer known as the Ringmaster. There are others in his past but he only tells of his recent exploits which includes the killing of two FBI agents.

CORD does not consider himself a killer, but only someone doing his job. His job is killing demons that have taken over the bodies of his victims. That’s right, demons. Patrick has done an excellent job of creating CORD and as you read it you wonder if he is playing with a full deck.

Not as horrific as I was expecting but it does have its moments. Check out the website to pick this one up. Patrick Welch has never let me down and he doesn’t do it this time either. Recommended.
