Pyr, the new SF imprint of Prometheus Books has announced their inaugural lineup of books for their Spring/Summer 2005 debut. March will see the release of PARADOX by John Meaney and STAR OF GYPSIES by Robert Silverberg. April releases are HERE, THERE & EVERYWHERE by Chris Roberson and THE RESURRECTED MAN by Sean Williams. THE CROWN ROSE by Fiona Avery will follow in May, with THE PRODIGAL TROLL by Charles Coleman following in June. Michael Blumlein’s THE HEALER will be released in July and an anthology by Gardner Dozois, GALILEO’S CHILDREN: STORIES OF SCIENCE VS. SUPERSTITION will follow in August. Pyr is starting out with a diverse mix of titles that shows their desire to be a positive force in science fiction and fantasy for the 21st Century.

It seems that scientists are receiving signals from between Aries and Pisces and they have the appearance of being from an intelligent source. They have been received three times and are under study to find out what they are and if we are not alone. I had hoped we would have learned something before now and I hope they find out for sure.

John Fogerty has released his first new album, Déjà vu (All Over Again), in seven years and hasn’t lost his touch. The title song is highly reminiscent of the Creedence era. Fleetwood Mac has a live cd/dvd release of the Boston concert. Christine McVie is missed but the concert is enjoyable.

Comments inside // are those of the editor and are not meant to detract but to add to the reviewers comments. Sometimes I have to add my two cents worth as well..

Sorry that everyone’s book didn’t make it into this issue. I’m working a lot of extra hours now and the reading time is getting harder to find. I’ll do my best to get to them in the next issue.
