Kenny Odum is home alone watching the Chiller Theatre when he decides it’s time to open the door in the basement and find out if there is anything there. What he finds is a coffin and a vampire that has been locked away for over twenty years.

Victor McAuliffe was a lawyer working on a case involving the town Mayor when he is bitten by a vampire, then locked in a coffin by the Mayor’s henchmen until his release by Kenny.

This is the first volume of a horror series for young adults about the Coopersville Creepers. It is a good and intriguing start that will have readers looking for the second volume. Markusen is off to a good start with his first non-baseball effort.
