The world is coming to an end, and even though everyone has known for six weeks, there are still those who don't know what to do with themselves. Some have committed suicide, some have committed murder, and others just sit and wait for the end.

On the last day, Sean decides he really wants to be with his ex-girlfriend so they can go out together. Sean says goodbye to his family and goes on the last road trip and has some strange adventures with a lion tamer and his lions, a pregnant woman about to give birth, and a bus with kidnapped, abused women.

Sean ultimately finishes his journey and travels through a strange landscape and reunites with his lost love. He learns that love may be eternal, but as far as everything else – IT'S ONLY TEMPORARY.

Shapiro has written an unusual commentary on the world today and what might happen as the end draws near. This is a fun, quick read that will give you some food for thought as well.
